What myths about goals have you heard about Conquerors? While setting goals, we do not have the intention or thought of failing. We have the mindset that we want to achieve our goals.
But, there may be some thoughts, mindsets, patterns of thinking that may make you fail to achieve your goals.
So, today we’ll be talking about myths about goals and achieving them.
Setting goals is not necessary
Many people fall into this thinking pattern that writing down or setting your goals is useless. They believe that just thinking about it is okay. Some of them justify it with the reasoning that the future is unpredictable.
Yes, the future is not predictable but the truth is, writing your goals down makes it easy to attain and it also gives you a direction of what you want to do with your life in a month or year.
Writing goals doesn’t work
This one is quite interesting because many people don’t want to experience the pain or failure they felt when their goals don’t work.
Know that several factors may have prevented you from achieving your goals in the past, but certainly not because you wrote them down.
The timing may have not been right, you may not have put the right systems that will enable you to achieve the goal, or the goal wasn’t right at that point in your life.
Don’t allow past failures to detect your future. Set the right goals this time around, believe you will succeed and strive for it.
I don’t need goals
Many people who don’t set goals are guilty of this thinking. You need to know that wishing for something is different from wanting them, and hence writing them down as goals.
You may want to earn 6 figures by the end of the year. How do you want to achieve that? What systems will you put in place to increase your stream of income?
You need goals that will act as a compass to the life you want and need. You need to write your goals because it will make you think of ways you can make them work.
Know that you may sometimes, you may not tick off all your goals. But, is it not better to change your mindset and think that you can achieve your goals?
